Running AI products has a real cost - queries and always-on hosting use energy and water. So we give back, twice over: a year-round pledge to two Australian environmental nonprofits, beginning September 2026, and from 2027 one humanitarian cause at a time on top - always organisations that go in and do the work themselves.
From September 2026, a share of every month's subscription revenue goes to two Australian environmental nonprofits, split evenly between them - more than enough to cover the energy and water our products use. This pledge doesn't rotate; it runs year round, alongside whatever cause we're backing.

No single company moves this number. We show it live because it's the honest context for everything on this page - a pledge that won't name the number it exists for is marketing, not a pledge.
Several times over, and the margin widens as we grow. Published research puts a typical AI chatbot query at roughly 0.3-0.4 Wh of electricity and 0.3-0.5 mL of water - small enough that our always-on server, at roughly 0.15-0.2 tonnes of CO2e a year, is by far the larger share. Our monthly donations fund accredited carbon offsetting several times beyond that combined footprint - plus waterway restoration on top, which offsets nothing and exists purely to give back.

We think that's a better, more honest commitment than a bare "we offset our usage" claim: we're not just covering our own footprint, we're giving real money to real environmental causes on top of it.
